Trump Business Attempted to Hire Nearly 200 Workers on Visas in 2025

The former president’s corporate entity accelerated its recruitment of foreign workers on temporary visas this period, while his government was creating barriers for other companies attempting to do the same, a report published recently claimed.

Based on data from the federal labor department, the business aimed to bring in at least 184 foreign workers in 2025 for temporary positions at the US president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The number of requests for temporary work visas covering workers including waitstaff, office assistants, housekeepers, kitchen staff and farm workers was the record filed by the company, and increased from over 120 in 2021, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in 10 years that Trump had attempted to hire over a hundred overseas workers for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, based on labor statistics.

The revelation comes amid a crackdown on legal immigration by his administration that has included the introduction of a substantial charge on H1-B visas; increased review of the activities of the millions of people who already hold US visas; and restrictive new rules for foreign students and journalists.

Overall, the business sought to employ over 560 overseas workers over the five years the former president has been in the presidency, from 2017 to 2021 and during the upcoming year.

Notably, Trump was criticized by some in the GOP this week for comments justifying the necessity for overseas employees when a business was unable to find people with “specific talents” to fill certain positions.

“You cannot just say a nation is entering, going to spend $10bn to construct a facility, and going to recruit individuals off an jobless roster who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he stated to a interviewer after she suggested that overseas employees lower the pay of American employees.

The White House refused a request for comment, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an request for information.
